Police arrest three males in $200,000 extortion racket

POLICE hold arrested three males suspected of extorting over $200,000 from bigger than a dozen other folks.

Officers of the North Central Division held the males on August 28 right thru a police operation.

After weeks of investigations and surveillance, the three suspects – a 39-yr-dilapidated of Santa Cruz, a 33-yr-dilapidated of St Joseph and a 26- yr-dilapidated of Valsayn – were held on suspicion of anxious cash by menace.

Police say the crimes spanned several months, and the males got a pair of payments right thru that point.

The intelligence-led operation moreover incorporated members of the Cyber Crime Unit and the Central Division’s Gang Unit, and used to be supervised by Snr Supt Smith, Snr Supt Simon, Supt Gyan, ASP Singh and Sgt Cielto.

In the intervening time, investigative work by Southern Division officers resulted in the arrest of a 14-yr-dilapidated for storebreaking and larceny.

A businesswoman in Princes City urged police she locked her enterprise premises on August 27, however when she returned on August 28, she noticed the premises had been broken into and several other containers of goods were missing.

Police investigated and later that day arrested two suspects, a 27-yr-dilapidated from Princes City and a 14-yr-dilapidated from Novel Grant.

Investigations are ongoing.
