OVER 3,000 students from greater than 30 countries were welcomed into the UWI, St Augustine campus at its annual matriculation and welcome ceremony on September 19.
A media free up from the university dated September 23, said the ceremony used to be held at its Sport and Physical Education Centre (UWI SPEC).
The free up said this twelve months’s theme, Pelicans: Salvage In a position to Soar, marked the starting of the educational twelve months for the 3,000-plus students.

The ceremony integrated the symbolic signing of the educational register by high matriculant Keshma Rampersad, who is pursuing a stage in computer sciences. The free up said Rampersad used to be chosen for her academic excellence for know-how.

The ceremony also integrated a performance of the university tune by UWI’s Arts Chorale.
