Local govt expands flood cleanup in north Trinidad

THE Ministry of Rural Trend and Local Authorities acknowledged it has mobilised its resources and teams to enhance communities tormented by heavy rainfall and thunderstorms connected with the passage of a low-level trough on November 23.

In a media release on November 24, the ministry acknowledged the sinful weather brought on major boulevard flooding, flash flooding, and fallen trees, significantly in northern Trinidad.

It acknowledged, “Even though floodwaters like largely subsided, loads of landslides had been reported, causing boulevard blockages and property hurt in areas equivalent to Upper La Puerta Avenue, La Seiva Avenue, and Lengthy Circular Avenue.”

The ministry acknowledged the Anxiousness Management Unit has deployed technical teams and heavy machinery to definite these roads and assess the extent of the hurt.

The ministry acknowledged it impulsively activated its co-ordinated response in collaboration with excessive stakeholders, alongside with the Diego Martin Borough Company, the San Juan/Laventille Regional Company, the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT), the Fire Provider, and CEPEP.

The ministry acknowledged it has widened its dapper-up operations on November 24 to encompass La Seiva, Carenage, Chuma Monka in Petit Valley, and Crystal Circulation.
