THE Formative years Pattern and Nationwide Carrier Ministry (MYDNS) and Cemex/Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) bear agreed to distribute licences to 18 formative years farmers to occupy land in Claxton Bay “for agricultural pursuits and the constructing of instant constructions, to enable tenable farming practices.”

An announcement by the ministry on January 27 said the settlement became once reached between the minister, Foster Cummings, and Cemex/TCL CEO Gonzalo Rueda Castillo, at some stage in discussions at the ministry in St Clair, Port of Spain on January 24.

Cummings said, “I am comfortable that we bear now reached the stage of issuing licences, which is in a position to boost to a 5-year rent, once the farmers decide to the licence settlement.

The ministry said the younger farmers got coaching from the Agriculture Ministry’s Extension Training and Knowledge Services and products (Etis) Division in hydroponics, exiguous engine repair, agri-enterprise administration, compost-making, residence gardening and dasheen production.
